About Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's

New series of Yu-Gi-Oh!, can be considered as sort of Spin-off and not.

Kazuki Takahashi Afterwords in Bunkoban (manga reprints) of original Yu-Gi-Oh! (the manga) about the series before it aired:

In April, the new anime seriels titled, "Yuugiou 5D's" begins. I think's already been an article about it in a magazine we're all acquainted with (VJump).

I remember it was towards the end of the year before last (end of 2006), when the producers, the sponsors and all of them, stunned me when they proposed the idea of a new anime story (whaaat? I have to do this again?!). Personally, I vowed to myself that GX would be the last one, but honestly, for a while, I was conflicted. The production staff, the TV Board, all long time and drinking buddies, they took "Yuugiou", what I had created with my abilities, and spread ir to many people in the world with their Media Mix* abilities. So, with the condition that this would be the last, the new series was planned.

While the Card Battles are the main part, of course, the visuals are like nothing you've seen before, set in the near future of Domino City and there is the state-of-the-art technology of the "D-Wheel" and the latest Duel Disk on the market.

This series is drawn differently from the previous duels, the visuals flood you with the feeling of the speed, I think the animation showcases he characteristics of the battle strategy nicely.

I have prepared myself for the criticism that this is beyond the limits of a card game stage, but it was my intention to create something differet, rather than repeat the same old ideas. I decided on how the setting would look and I designed the main characters, the monsters and the D-Wheel. I entrusted the story development to the writers, so I can also enjoy the new scenarios every week.
Even though I feel my heart pounding a little now, I also believe that everyone will enjoy our work.

Please be sure to watch it!
